Code of conduct#

This code applies to everyone taking part in the bartorch project: in issues, pull requests, reviews, and any other project space.

Standards#

Participants are expected to:

  • treat others with respect, whatever their background, identity or level of experience;

  • support technical disagreement with evidence, and accept corrections;

  • give and receive constructive feedback on work rather than on people;

  • credit the contributions of others.

Unacceptable behaviour includes harassment, discriminatory language, threats, sexualised language or attention, personal attacks, and publishing another person’s private information without their permission.

Reporting and enforcement#

Report unacceptable behaviour to the maintainers privately, through the contact details on a maintainer’s GitHub profile, or to GitHub through its content-reporting mechanism. Do not post the details of an incident in a public issue.

The maintainers review every report, keep the reporter’s identity confidential, and respond in proportion to the behaviour: a warning, the removal of content, or a temporary or permanent exclusion from project spaces. A maintainer who is the subject of a report takes no part in handling it.
